For as long as I can remember, I’ve thrived in roles that balance precision with people skills. Supporting leaders has always meant more than managing calendars or emails—it’s about anticipating needs, streamlining operations, and creating the space for leaders to focus on the big picture while the details are executed with care.
Over time, I realized something important: being an effective strategic partner is about influence without authority. I’ve often served as a bridge between leadership and teams, aligning priorities, smoothing communication, and keeping projects moving forward. Whether working with contractors, cross-functional teams, or senior leaders, I’ve learned that service, organization, and discretion are powerful tools of leadership.
And in those moments—when I aligned projects across departments, supported decision-making, or shaped communication—I saw myself already stepping into the skills of a Chief of Staff.
The Spark
The Chief of Staff role resonates with me because it’s about partnership, strategy, and impact. Chiefs of Staff don’t just support leaders—they amplify them. They turn vision into action, strengthen culture, and make sure people feel seen in the process.
My path so far has been fueled by both experience and learning. From preparing for my aPHR certification to diving deeper into organizational development, DEI, and HR strategy, I’ve seen how the foundation of an EA can evolve into the influence of a Chief of Staff.
Lessons From the Executive Assistant Seat
Working side by side with senior leadership has shaped how I think about growth, culture, and leadership:

Looking Ahead
As I continue developing my skills in HR, organizational development, and leadership strategy, I’m excited to either step into the Chief of Staff role—or simply grow with the mindset of one. I’ve connected with the Chief of Staff Collective and the Chief of Staff Association, and I see this not as a leap away from the EA path but as a natural evolution of the work I’ve always been passionate about: ensuring leaders, teams, and organizations thrive together.
